The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and UBS Securities reported retail chain stores sales rose 0.7% in the week ended April 29 after falling 0.2% the week before.

Investors also waited for news of Factory Orders and the ISM Services index on Wednesday, as well as Friday's Nonfarm Payroll report. The debate continues about whether the Fed will pause in its tightening cycle in June.
