U.S. economic growth snapped back in the first quarter after a disappointing showing in 2005's fourth quarter, though the figure fell a shade below expectations. According to a government report released on Apr. 28, U.S. gross domestic product rose 4.8% in the first quarter, vs. economists' median forecast of 4.9%, following the restrained 1.7% pace in the fourth quarter.
