Thank God for laptops

Stephen Baker

Some 8,000 people had been cooped up in a trade show yesterday in Orlando. And at 4:15 p.m., the only thing keeping them from breaking out into a gorgeous sunny afternoon was the prospect of hearing me--the final act--talking about math. Luckily, the organizers of the Florida Educational Technology Conference had the foresight to offer two free laptops to people attending my speech. One before the speech, and, thankfully, another one after it.

I'll see if I can podcast the speech at some point. Meantime, off to St. Augustine. Happy weekend.
