Behead the VCs?

Umair Haque says that VC inexperience may be the reason for the chasm between tech companies and content companies these days. Or it could be that tech is moving too fast for media companies or tech companies to know how to bridge the gap.

Umair Haque's recent thread of posts on the chasm in Web 2.0 is fascinating. Haque is exploring an impasse he sees in the Web 2.0 world. (How to describe Web 2.0? It's loosely the innovations that enable world of peer production, community, and do it yourself media.) "The 2.0 crowd has the right tools (communities, networks, attention markets, etc), but not the right audiences. Big media still has the audiences, but not the tools," Haque says.
