Energy Prices Fall After Weekly Inventory News

The Department of Energy reported rising oil and gasoline supplies for the week ended Dec. 2

MARKETSCOPE : Energy prices fell Wednesday after the Department of Energy reported weekly data about inventories.

January West Texas Intermediate crude oil fell 73 cents to $59.21, January heating oil fell 3.54 cents to 173.66 cents, and January gasoline futures fell 1.59 cents to 156.76. The Department of Energy reported that inventories rose 2.7 million barrels in each category.

January heating oil futures rose 21 cents to $13.70, as cold weather hit the Midwest and Northeast of the U.S. -- and forcasters said it would last.
