Energy Prices Give Up Their Monday Gains
MARKETSCOPE : Oil prices were mixed in a seesaw session on Tuesday, as investors eyed the weather and made their bets ahead of supply news.
January West Texas Intermediate edged up 3 cents to $59.94, January heating oil futures fell 1.76 cents to 177.20 cents, and January gasoline fell 63 cents to 158.35 cents. The weekly release of a Department of Energy inventory report on Wednesday is expected to show increases in supply.
January natural gas futures fell 17 cents to $13.49, after weather in the Northeast proved better than forecast.
Meanwhile investors continued waiting to see how the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries moves on output when it meets next week.
