Energy Futures Mixed
MARKETSCOPE: November WTI crude oil rose 59 cents Wednesday to $64.12 per barrel in position squaring before Thursday's Dept. of Energy inventory report that is expected to show crude oil stocks rose 1-3 million barrels, distillates fell 2-3 million barrels, and gasoline fell 2-3 million barrels. Prices were also boosted by a government report that 70% of Gulf Coast refineries still out of commission due to damage from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
November heating oil futures fell 0.22 cent to 201.57 cents, while November natural gas was unchanged at $13.524 despite concerns about refining shortages and scrambled pipelines.
