For nearly 20 years, EVE TAHMINCIOGLU has written about business and technology for publications including The New York Times, Time, and Kiplinger's, and she has also written for UPI and several Ziff-Davis magazines. She's currently authoring a book on what shapes and inspires leaders from all walks of life, to be published by John Wiley & Sons in 2006. She lives in Wilmington, Del., with her husband, Andy, and two young children, and laments the fact that she has limited time for her passions -- painting and writing poetry.

JULIA COSGROVE is the managing editor of ReadyMade, a design and lifestyle magazine based in her hometown of Berkeley, Calif. After recently relocating to the West Coast from New York, where she was an editor at Time Out New York Kids, she constantly finds herself struck by the sunshine and the great food and wine of northern California. Julia has written for BusinessWeek and the New York Daily News, among other publications.

SmallBiz' summer intern, MICHAEL PATTERSON, studies business journalism at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Va. He quickly made himself a valuable part of the SmallBiz team. Back at school this fall, he'll continue as a news editor for the Trident, W&L's campus newspaper. A native of Houston, Patterson spends his free time kayaking and fishing. He aims to pursue a career in journalism after graduating next spring.
