Times listens to bloggers

New York Times ponders steps toward the transparancy and interactivity that bloggers have been clamoring for.

Check out the new memo on building readers' confidence from the Times. I think it's pretty clear that they're listening to bloggers. Many of the Times' points call for the same transparancy bloggers have been clamoring for. They propose making reporters more available to the public, publishing transcripts of interviews online, and lots more. Will this be enough for die-hard bloggers? Of course not. But it's a step toward the convergence of these two worlds. See Jeff Jarvis for more comment.
