Pfizer expects lower earnings on suspension of Bextra sales; Texas Instruments beats estimates; plus more of Tuesday's stocks in the news

General Motors (GM ) shares traded lower Tuesday after the automaker posted a $1.48 first-quarter loss per share (excluding items), vs. $2.12 earnings per share one year earlier on a 4.2% revenue decline. Given the uncertainty of items such as a resolution of a health-care cost crisis, the company says it will not provide earnings guidance for 2005 at this time.
