Asia Lower, Europe Mixed
European stock markets were mixed on Thursday. In London, the Financial Times Stock Exchange-100 lost 15.50 points, or 0.31%, to close at 4922.10. UK stocks ended the day lower as crude oil prices continued to rally. Wall Street traded a touch higher thanks to in-line weekly jobless data and strong figures from Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. In London, WM Morrison was the main drag after warning its fiscal 2004 profits would not meet guidance delivered in early January after it found accounting issues at Safeway. Losses were counterbalanced by another bullish day for commodities, with BHP Billiton leading the pack.
