Sentiment shifts toward Bush

Ohio seems beyond Kerry's reach, in the view of many analysts. There's speculation that Nevada, which seemed safely in the Kerry column, is now tied. The TV networks say the Bush motorcade is moving out of the White House, presumably to a victory celebration. There are plenty of absentee ballots to be counted, and the potential for legal challenges is there. But at the very least, it looks like early forecasts from this afternoon, which predicted a Kerry landslide, were way off base. It appears to many that the president is close to reelection. Several networks are calling the crucial Ohio race in Bush's favor, but the Kerry campaign is insisting that it isn't over. Is this the beginning of another protracted nightmare in the courts?
