Behind ESADE's Big Jump

Associate Director Gloria Batllori talks about the changes the Barcelona B-school has made that helped it land at No. 4 in non-U.S. programs

Barcelona's ESADE leaped into the top ranks of BusinessWeek's International Report Card this year for the first time, thanks to raves it received from recruiters, who rated its grads tops in marketing, communication, and teamwork. But the ranking, while pleasant, came as no surprise to Gloria Batllori, who has been overseeing curriculum and career-services changes to the program since 2002 from her perch as associate director of ESADE's full-time MBA program. BusinessWeek's Kate Hazelwood talked to Batllori by phone to find out what's new, what's ESADE's approach to education, and what's working.
