Home Depot jumps; Motorola soars; plus more of Tuesday's stocks in the news

Staples (SPLS ) posted 24 cents, vs. 18 cents second-quarter earnings per share on a 4% same-store sales rise and a 9.2% total sales rise. Staples sees 20% third-quarter earnings per share growth. Due to higher-than-expected second-quarter earnings per share, Staples sees 24% fiscal 2005 earnings per share growth. S&P and Prudential raisd their estimates.
