Cries For Help That Fall On Deaf Ears

The Multitech Group is a 28-year-old engineering services firm in New Jersey. We employ an average of 50 people, mostly engineers. We work mainly in the utilities, material handling, and homeland security industries.

Over the past year we have written 66 letters, e-mails, and faxes to our government officials. Our missives asked for help and support for smaller companies in our efforts to obtain medical coverage and liability insurance. To date, we have not received a single response.

The incredible amount of money that it takes to get elected ensures that politicians become beholden to private money and to their parties, which mete out "backing" to those they select.

This removes our ability as citizens to gain proper representation from our elected officials without paying (again) for it. A representative government is our right, not a "perk" afforded by the political parties. How do we get it back?
