Europe Stocks End Higher
European stock markets finished higher Wednesday. London's FTSE 100 index added 57.4 points, or 1.3%, to 4,471.8. Minutes from the Bank of England's last meeting warn of faster-than-expected rate hikes and in larger increments. S&P MarketScope Europe reports that the FTSE 100 was boosted by strong mining stocks -- such as Antofagasta, Xstrata, and BHP Billiton -- after China allayed interest rate hike concerns in that country.
