What Hermes Wants in an MBA

Across the U.S. and abroad, luxury-goods companies are finding themselves in the crosshairs of eager B-schoolers and newly minted MBAs. Even though the luxury companies have rarely hired MBAs in the past and salaries are relatively low compared with consulting and investment banking, luxury is a hot field among B-schoolers. BusinessWeek Reporter Kate Hazelwood recently talked to Robert Chavez, president of Hermes USA, about the qualifications he expects from a job candidate, what an MBA should know on Day One.
