Treasuries Finish Lower

The selloff continued throughout the close, following a report that retail sales rose more than expected

Treasuries fell after the bounce in U.S. retail sales, which suggest the Federal Reserve will have to rasie interest rates before the end of the year. Fed funds futures, a trading vehicle for market pros to bet on future interest rate moves, were pricing in 90% odds of a first-time 25-basis-point rate hike by the Aug. 10 Federal Open Market Committee meeting, according to Economic research firm Informa Global Markets.
