Europe Markets End Higher

Asia markets finish mixed; Canada shares climb

European stock markets finished higher on Monday. London's Financial Times-Stock Exchange 100 index added 31.7 points, or 0.72%, to 4,434.40. There was little reaction to a report showing that manufacturing output fell in December for the second consecutive month, reports S&P's MarketScope. House prices rose in England and Wales. British Airways (BAB ) was higher on news that the airline posted a 125 million pound pretax profit in its third quarter, vs. a 25 million pound profit. BA says that while security issues having some impact on forward bookings, its long-haul premium volumes remain above last year's levels.
