Is a sustainable market recovery on the way in 2004? With low inflation and interest rates, along with a slow rebound in hiring, all the ingredients are in place, says Lauren Young, personal finance editor for BusinessWeek, who specializes in mutual funds and other investments. In the second year of an economic recovery, mid-cap and large-cap stocks tend to do better than smaller companies, she says.
