It's a jumbo $225 billion project to build a new type of stealth fighter. And to pull it off, Lockheed Martin Corp. (LMT ) is stitching together a vast global network of engineers. The company is forging real-time connections with 80 major suppliers of everything from engines to landing gear. This enables designers in the U.S. to work simultaneously with partners overseas. The company looks to save about $250 million over the decade it will take to create the jet.
