Stocks Close Higher

The major indexes staged a late push into the green in a session marked by jagged trading

Stocks managed to sneak into positive territory by the end of trading on Thursday, after a decidedly jagged, up and down session. While a fresh slate of economic data released Thursday came in near expectations, the numbers certainly do not suggest the economy is picking up steam, and do nothing to change the forecast for an interest-rate cut by the Federal Reserve on June 25, according to Standard & Poor's MarketScope.
