Software startup Pragmatech's CEO explains how he and his wife turned a neat idea into an outfit that has defied the tech downturn

Husband and wife Brooke Savage and Melissa Mabon have turned Pragmatech, the software outfit they founded, from a dream into a $10 million operation that numbers top-shelf customers like Hewlett-Packard among its clients. Their concept grew out of a simple observation: Salespeople and marketers spend too much time and energy writing proposals when they should be out seeing customers and collecting purchase orders. Savage and Mabon set out to create the tools that would reduce that paperwork.
