Intel Profit Surpasses Street Targets

Kmart to shed jobs and close stores; Photon Dynamics declines; plus more of today's stocks in the news

Intel (INTC ) posted 16 cents fourth quarter earnings per share, on revenue of $7.2 billion -- topping Wall Street's estimates. Analysts were expecting 14 cents earnings per share on revenue of around $6.6 billion. But the chipmaker said its 2003 capital spending will come in far below analysts' forecasts.
