McDonald's Shutters 175 Stores

Tenet Healthcare tumbles; Research In Motion jumps on Nokia pact; plus more of today's stocks in the news

McDonald's (MCD ) will close 175 underperforming restaurants in about 10 countries; and take a $350 million to $425 million fourth quarter non-cash charge. Given the charge, the burger chain will not achieve the previous 2002 earnings per share target. S&P downgraded to hold. JP Morgan retierates underweight.
