Dole Debt Ratings Put on CreditWatch Negative

S&P cites the unsolicited buyout bid from the fresh fruit giant's CEO

On Sept. 23, 2002, Standard & Poor's placed its 'BBB-' long-term corporate credit and senior unsecured debt ratings on Westlake Village, Calif.-based Dole Food Co. (DOL ), the world's largest producer and marketer of high-quality fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and fresh-cut flowers, on CreditWatch with negative implications.
