Senator Levin on Saddam and Enron
Senator Carl Levin has never been one to mince words. So when the Michigan Democrat called Wall Street executives to testify about Enron before the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations this summer, he got right to the point. As he opened one of the hearings, he growled: "Financial institutions not only were aware that Enron was engaged in misleading accounting, but actively assisted Enron in its deceptions."
