Treasuries Soar on Third Day of Gains

Treasuries advanced on a report that jobless claims rose last week, signaling a slowing economic recovery

Treasuries extended their winning streak to three in a row Thursday, as the losing string in stocks climbed to four days. The solid demand for the safety of government bonds, albeit exaggerated by the thin market conditions, helped push the yield on the long bond close below 5% for the first time in about two weeks.
