TRW Sells Aeronautical Systems Unit to Goodrich

Cendant is reportedly in talks to acquire Budget Group, and more merger news

TRW (TRW ) agreed to sell its aeronautical systems business to Goodrich (GR ) for $1.5 billion in cash. In March, TRW announced it would split apart after Northrop Grumman (NOC ) launched a hostile bid for the company. On Friday, Northrop extended its $6.68 billion ($53 per share) offer for TRW until June 21. (6/19)

Cendant (CD ) is in talks to acquire Budget Group (BDPGA ) through a pre-planned bankruptcy-court proceeding in a deal that would create the nation's No. 2 car-rental company, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. (6/19)
