Canada Shares End Flat

Europe markets end mixed; Asia stocks finish mixed

Canada's benchmark TSE 300 did open on the plus side but gains stalled, and the index closed down 4.4 points to 7,713.40. The bearish reversal in the U.S. indexes were a hefty weight. Of the 14 subindices, 11 closed down and the net loss on the TSE 300 would have been worse if it were not for the C$4.55 pop in BCE to C$27.55 (key Utility stock).
