Stocks Slump Again

Cisco's increased guidance was overshadowed by other negative earnings news and ongoing accounting concerns

Stocks slumped on Wednesday as concern about corporate earnings reports from some big names eclipsed encouraging news from networking gear maker Cisco Systems (CSCO ). The technology bellwether said that it saw better than expected profits and sales for the second quarter. Cisco was expected to report its earnings after the close of trading Wednesday.
