Treasuries Finish Lower in Choppy Session

Fedspeak and a factory orders report provided little direction. Finally, a consumer credit report pushed Treasuries to a lower finish

Treasuries ended lower in choppy trading amid heavy supply. Philadelphia Federal Reserve President Anthony Santomero's comments that the Fed needs to be "cautious" with respect to additional rate cuts had some impact. Factory orders data released early in the session had little effect. But it was the afternoon release of a stronger-than-expected consumer credit report that kept the bond down for good.
