Table: The Road Ahead

Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly will soon start Tunney Act proceedings to examine the adequacy of the proposed settlement. Simultaneously, she'll begin a remedy trial for those states that didn't think the deal was adequate. Here's what's coming:

LATE NOVEMBER

Tunney Act proceedings begin with Justice's filing of competitive impact statement.

DEC. 7

States that haven't signed on to the deal submit alternative remedy proposal and witness list.

DEC. 12

Microsoft responds to this and names its witnesses for alternative remedy phase.

LATE JANUARY

Deadline for critics to submit responses to Tunney competitive impact statement.

FEB. 1-22

Depositions are taken as part of the discovery process

MARCH

Kollar-Kotelly begins remedy phase of Microsoft trial.

SUMMER

Remedy expected, if case has not been settled.
