Europe Indexes Make Strong Gains
European markets ended higher. London's Financial Times-Stock Exchange 100 index rose 46.80 points, or 0.89%, to 5,285.00, amid the latest update on U.K. retail sales, which fell 0.1% in October, about as expected. In France, the CAC 40 rose 10.02%, or 0.22%, to 4,587.30. Germany's DAX Index rose 56.31 points, or 1.12%, to 5,064.62, after Chancellor Schroeder won parliamentary approval to send troops to Afghanistan.
