European Markets Dragged Down by Techs, Oils

Major averages also dipped in Asia and Canada

Canada's benchmark TSE 300 index spent Thursday in negative territory and closed lower by 56.8 points to 6,900. A sell-off in oil stocks and a 69-point decline in the DJIA were added pressures. Twelve of the 14 subindexes closed lower.
