Global Recession Jitters Hurt Europe Stocks

Canada shares fall; Nikkei climbs on anticipated discount-rate cut

Europe markets fell amid concerns of global recession. In London, the Financial Times-Stock Exchange 100 index ended down 127.00 points, or 2.62%, to 4,721.70. In France, the CAC 40 finished lower by 81.25 points, or 2.05%, to 3,888.93. In Germany, the DAX index was off 153.05 points, or 3.65%, to 4,041.80.
