CEOs Who Have Vital Data at Their Command
Lorenzo Zambrano is one busy guy. As chief executive of Mexico's Cemex, the third-largest cement producer in the world, he spends nearly two-thirds of his time whizzing around the globe to visit customers, suppliers, and his far-flung manufacturing plants. But at least once or twice a week, Zambrano steps back and peers deep into his $6 billion company. He fires up his computer and logs on to the corporate database to check, among other things, oven temperatures at Cemex' nearly 50 plants.
