Nikkei Plunges on Corporate Earnings Jitters

Canada shares rebound slightly; Europe stocks end mixed

Asian markets ended lower, taking a cue from U.S. equities' tumble on Thursday. The Nikkei plunged 224.94 points, or 2.06%, to 10,713.51 on disappointing economic data and corporate earnings downgrades. Techs were among the biggest losers. In Hong Kong, the market fell 225.15 points, or 1.99%, to 11,090.48.
