Tyson Takes On London

Former Clinton adviser and Berkeley B-School Dean Laura d'Andrea Tyson is London Business School's new dean

After three years as dean of the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley, and over 20 years at the university, Laura d'Andrea Tyson (also a BusinessWeek columnist) is moving 5,300 miles to become dean of London Business School. The shift takes her from one elite position to another, and arguably to a more prestigious spot. In BusinessWeek's 2000 B-school ranking LBS held the No. 2 slot, of seven international contenders, while Haas was No. 18 of 30 U.S. programs. She'll assume responsibilities in London in late January, 2002. (Click here for a 9/12/00 video interview with Tyson.)
