Stocks End Lower

Investors remained cautious about an economic recovery, despite a positive report on retail sales

Stocks fell Tuesday in thin trading as a better-than-expected report on U.S. retail sales in July was offset by continuing concerns about an economic recovery. Investors also remain worried about corporate profits, as Wal-Mart (WMT ) revised second half earnings estimates downward.
