Goldman Sees an Overhang on EMC

Analyst Laura Conigliaro says an analysts' meeting did little to alleviate concerns about the information storage firm's outlook

Goldman Sachs sees an overhang on EMC Corp.'s (EMC ) stock.

Analyst Laura Conigliaro tells says day two of EMC's analyst meeting didn't provide thorough answers to concerns about growth, margins and pricing but instead focused on technology strategy, and long-term positioning. She says she's comfortable with the company's technology and overall leadership position in storage, maybe even a bit more so than before. Coming out of the meeting, however, Conigliaro thinks the lack of complete clarification on immediate concerns is going to act as an overhang on the stock in the near term.

Although EMC did not really comment on near-term demand, she does not believe there have been any changes from the difficult conditions of the June quarter.
