Canada Markets Eke Out Gains

Europe stocks end mixed after surprise rate cut; chip makers boost Japan's Nikkei

Canada's benchmark TSE 300 index managed to post a double digit gain Thursday, rising 14.17 points, or 0.02%, to 7756.20. Seven of the 14 subindices rose, with financials and conglomerates contributing to most of the gains.
