Longs Drug Store (LDG ) posted $0.34 vs. $0.31 Q1 EPS from operations on 6.6% higher same store sales and 8% higher total sales. The company sees Q2 same store sales growth of about 6.5% with $0.35-$0.38 EPS, and $1.60-$1.65 fiscal 2002 EPS from operations.
Microsemi Corp. (MSCC ) will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 after close on a date to be announced, replacing Silicon Valley Group, which is being acquired.
