Gold Lifts Canada Shares

Europe markets slip; Asia markets finish mixed

The TSE 300 traded in a choppy manner Wednesday spending time on both sides of unchanged. The 5.4% surge in the Gold & Precious Minerals subindex -- which has been climbing recently, especially since Wednesday's surge in spot gold -- offset the negative Industrials and U.S. indices. The TSE 300 ended with a minor 6.4 point gain to 8070.6. Technically the TSE 300 is in wait-and-see mode.
