New Pfizer Pill Gets FDA Nod

The FDA approved Pfizer's (PFE ) ziprasidone HCl capsules, a novel antipsychotic medicine for treatment of schizophrenia.

Manpower (MAN ) posted $0.70 vs. $0.63 Q4 EPS on a 3% revenue rise.

O'Charley's (CHUX ) posted $0.31 vs. $0.25 Q4 EPS on slightly higher same store sales and a 34% total sales rise. The restaurant chain sees $0.38-$0.40 Q1 EPS on $126 million-$130 million in revenue, based on an expected 1.5%-3% same store sales rise, and also expects 2001 EPS of $1.30-$1.35.

Walt Disney (DIS ) posted $0.28 vs. $0.23 (pro forma) Q1 EPS on a 7% revenue rise. Disney's current quarter excluded retained interest in its Internet Group.

HCA-The Healthcare Company (HCA ) posted $0.35 vs. $0.28 Q4 EPS from operations on a 5.9% revenue rise. The healthcare provider agreed to acquire HealthSouth Medical Center for an undisclosed amount.

Coventry Health (CVTY ) posted $0.24 vs. $0.19 Q4 EPS from operations on a 25% revenue rise.

Neteos Inc. selected Exodus' (EXDS ) Internet Data Centers to provide the infrastructure essential for its hosted business-critical applications.

Sovereign Banc (SVRN ) will sell 20 million shares to Salomon Smith Barney, who will re-offer shares to the public.

Sportwear Holding plans to sell up to seven million of its 12.3 million shares in Tommy Hilfiger (TOM ), subject to market conditions and other factors. Prudential views the clothing company's weakness as a buying opportunity.

Serena Software (SRNA ) sees $0.24-$0.25 Q4 EPS on lower than expected $29.5 million-$30.5 million in revenues, citing execution issues in its North American sales organization.

Herman Miller (MLHR ) says Q3 results will likely be at the low end of earlier guidance due to current economic conditions. First Union cut Herman's earnings estimates.

Triquint Semiconductor (TQNT ) posted $0.27 vs. $0.12 Q4 EPS on a 83% revenue rise.

Myriad Genetics (MYGN ) posted a narrower than expected $0.05 Q2 loss vs. a $0.09 loss on a 44% revenue rise.

Radio Shack (RSH ) posted 9% January same store sales rise and a 13% total sales rise.

CS First Boston upgraded Pacific Sunwear (PSUN ) to buy from hold.

Commscope (CTV ) posted $0.43 vs. $0.39 Q4 EPS on a 17% sales rise. S&P maintained its accumulate recommendation on the shares. Wachovia reportedly downgraded its rating.

Outback Steak (OSI ) posted 7.9% higher January same store sales for its domestic Outback Steakhouses, and a 13.7% rise for its Carrabba's Italian Grills.
