As Indian graduates emigrate en masse, high-tech companies are crying for help

Last year, Sankaran P. Raghunathan got homesick and moved back to his native India. Raghunathan had been teaching business at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J., when Blueshift Inc., a small software-services provider in Atlanta, hired him to start up an offshore development operation in the Indian city of Madras. Raghunathan figured finding talent in India would be no problem, given that nation's vast reservoir of English-speaking engineers.
