Figures Of The Week

COMMENTARY
A desultory week in the financial markets. A decline in bonds dragged stocks
and the dollar lower on Oct. 12, with the Dow Jones industrial average falling
231 points, its biggest decline since May 27. The decline continued on Oct.
13, as equities were depressed by a discouraging third-quarter profit report
from Intel Corp. Oil stocks rose.
