Commentary: Bring Antidumping Laws Up To Date

Bought any Japanese-made mechanical bicycle speedometers lately? Probably not. They grew scarce in '72 after the Commerce Dept. slapped an antidumping tariff on them in an effort to protect U.S. makers. Cyclists long ago switched to electronic speedometers, but the duty on analog Japa-nese gauges remains on the books.
