Bob Iger is battling to reverse the network's slide

It is not unusual for Michael D. Eisner, Walt Disney Co.'s hard-driving CEO, to work late at his Bel Air (Calif.) home, firing off E-mail to lieutenants. What surprises Eisner, though, is how often he gets E-mail back from Robert A. Iger, president of ABC Inc., in New York within half an hour--even when Eisner's missive is sent at 4:30 a.m. Eastern time. "He gets in to the office earlier and works later than anyone else I know," says Eisner.
