Memo To Congress: Get Going

Voters signal they want pragmatic policies and consensus politics

On Nov. 3, the public sent a signal to Congress and particularly the Republicans: Stop fighting and get back to work on issues voters care about. The message, supported by a surprisingly energized voter turnout, transformed what pundits expected to be a strong conservative Republican tide into a movement back to moderate ground, already home to Bill Clinton and more Clinton-style Democrats.
